My name is Katy and I am the assistant teacher at Interactive Acres Preschool Academy. One of my earliest jobs was working at a Daycare Center/Preschool when I was in high school. I worked in the childcare field both as a Preschool Teacher and Nanny throughout my early College years. I studied Child Development and Film at San Francisco State University before changing my career path to Emergency Medicine. I went on to spend many years working on the ambulance, air ambulance, as well as, several years at Stanford’s Children’s Hospital (Lucille Packard). I have over 20 years experience teaching a variety of courses including CPR, First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, EMT, Child Abuse and Abduction Prevention, CPR for Kids, Babysitter Certification, Drama and many more. I have been the owner of Life First Training Center for over 15 years. Life First Training Center is an approved American Heart Association Training center serving both northern and southern California. I am also a published writer and working Actor. I have many passions and working with children has always been one of my biggest. I am so excited to have the opportunity to help open a Childcare Facility that will provide an amazing opportunity for the children in our community.
ABOUT Our Staff
Hello families and welcome to Interactive Acres Preschool Academy! We are excited to have you here! My name is Jaden and I am the Director and Lead Teacher of our program. I graduated from San Joaquin Delta College with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and Site Supervisor certification. I was also a student teacher at the Child Development center on campus and have taught a variety of children’s courses with Life First Training Center, including CPR for Kids, Painting for Kids, Abuse and Abduction Prevention, and more. I have been a certified CPR and First Aid instructor for the American Heart Association for about 8 yrs. My goal with starting Interactive Acres is to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can be introduced to the new and exciting world of school. I believe that an emphasis on hands-on learning and activities is crucial to the development of young children. Our program follows a daily schedule, which includes healthy meals, circle time with peers, small group activities, outdoor play and exploration, and more. Our facility also has a large yard (thus "Interactive Acres"!) and large classroom. Our curriculum is designed to nurture the many aspects of your child's development, including academics such as Math, Science, and Literacy. As a mixed media artist myself, I have also designed activities with a focus on visual arts, drama, music and movement. We look forward to starting this new adventure with you!
